Seis cerveza, por favor
Those are likely the four most important words to know when traveling to any resort. This post contains shots from in and around the compound.
And now for the bookface fodder.
- The crew meet in Toronto airport with Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Wolfville being represented.
- Pat The Brat
- Fixer Dave
- The Mom
- Doc Serious
- Boss Steph
- “I bet this won’t be in focus”
- Getting one last taste of Canada, Dave enjoys (or at least his best attempt at) eating a cream filled donut from Tim’s
- After a brief flight we landed in Varadero airport and Patrick managed to score some beer. This can be labelled as “the first”, there were many to follow.
- After our check in, we went about checking out the resort
- Cerveza
- The first day was semi-overcast and windy
- The resort bars had a list of “specialties”, here Steph enjoys a mojito. Not available at the beach bar incidentally
- I wish I could remember what was so funny
- Despite the red “no swim” flag, they dare a dip
- After having a few excitable life guards yelling and whistling from the safety of the shore Steph braved getting her ankles ravaged by the waves to signal to the boys to come in
- Alive
- When language fails, the point method is always a solid Plan B
- Not the intended subject nor shot
- The two biggest concerns for the trip were: What to eat? What to drink?
- The second day began with all the glamour to be expected from a night of free booze
- The liquid of choice this morning; bottled water
- The pelican pose
- Old man and the sea. Groan.
- As you can plainly see, the pelican pose can be easily adapted for a multitude of situations
- Tired from rescuing tourists from the blue jaws of death, a life guard takes a nap under the red flag while people happily swim
- And the cycle begins anew
- Godspeed
- On one of our last days in Cuba, we headed into Varadero to look around.
- Back at the resort David demonstrates why it isn’t a good idea to stand in one place too long
- Portuguese Man o’ War. Eaten by turtles; important as it will come up in my last Cuba entry coming shortly.
- Everyone sitting by the pool on our last night, including the partners-in-crime Lianne and Eric.
